RACE CHANGES ARE HERE! Let's begin the debate!

I was a blood elf hunter from day one, but with the race changes going live this week, I went ahead and switched over to a troll for the haste buff (berserking) the bow specilization (+1 crit) and the +5% damage to all beasts. I went back and forth between trolls and orcs. What do you guys think is the best race for hunter ? (horde and alliance). I can only speak from my horde experience.

So you guys think the bloodlust racial and pet dps boost is better over the haste, bow and beast boost? Huh. I'm a troll atm, but I might give Orc a try next week and see if there's a difference in numbers. In any event, I can tell you that just switching to troll made a slight improvement on my dps.

Troll

Racial traits Berserking
Activate to increase attack and casting speed by 20% lasts 10 seconds. 3 minute cooldown.
Regeneration
Increase health regeneration bonus by 10%. Also allows 10% of normal health regenerate during combat.
Beast Slaying
5% damage bonus to Beasts.
Throwing Weapon Specialization
Increase Throwing Weapon crit chance by 1%.
Bow Specialization
Increase Bow crit chance by 1%.
Da Voodoo Shuffle
Reduces the duration of all movement impairing effects by 15%. Trolls be flippin' out mon!

Orc
Blood Fury - instant - 2 min cooldown
Increases attack power by (Level*4)+2 and your spell power by (Level*2)+3. Lasts 15 seconds.
Hardiness - passive
Duration of Stun effects reduced by an additional 15%.
Command - passive
Damage dealt by Death Knight, Hunter and Warlock pets increased by 5%.
Axe Specialization - passive
Expertise with Axes, Two-Handed Axes and Fist Weapons increased by 5.

So what you have there is a haste bonus for trolls that lasts 10 secs every three minutes compared to a 322ap bonus for 15 seconds every two minutes.

The beasts things for troll's is pretty useless. How many beast bosses were there in Uld?

5% extra damage for your pet all the time is pretty good for Orcs.

You make a very solid point. Forgive me for being the newb. I can't switch races 'til tomorrow, but rest assured, by Monday I will be raiding as an orc! Thanks guys.

p.s. So what this really means is that there probably will be a lot of orc hunters running around now!

Eh i dont play for racials i play for looks and what i like. Im sticking with blood elf females cause there sexy. LOL. And Ryu007 your paying alot just to do a lil more dps why? Unless your balling like that lol.

If you're in a progression guild then squeezing out every ounce of DPS does mean that much to you. I's all about using epic gems rather than blues, using the +10 all stats to chest rather than +8, choosing two professions that will improve your DPS and not your gold balance.

I'm all about maximizing all the dps I can. I use mammoth treats for my pet, shell out 5-15 gold for a 1k of the best arrows/bullets. I'd switch to blacksmithing, but I'm my guild's only leatherworker so I get all the LW patterns. And yes, I'm balling like that. I'm an orc now, and I love it!

Before race changes was available it didnt matter what race you were. No top end guild would ever say you cant join because your a troll hunter. Orc's are the best and you have to be an orc to join. Squeezing out 3 more dps isnt worth me switching to a race i dont like just because there racial is a tad bit better. Its all about skill and your knowledge to adapt. Like i said before play what you like not because one race gives you a lil bit more dps that isnt that noticable.
