Hi all i was playing on my DK last nite and i normally jus get over 2k dps in ToC Hc which is pretty poor considering i can do 2.7-2.8k in Naxx10. Although i was using the polearm Marrowstrike which has agi and stam on it, but while i was in the instance i won Edge of Ruin which has str and stam on my dps jumped up by around .7k i was astonished at how much str will raise my dps.
I think the problem was my old guild told me i shud be trying for agi which obviously i now know is wrong. Do you think it will raise my dps by as much when in raids ??? _________________ Im the Lilman |

Now are you talking about Heroic 5m ToC or the 10m version? If you are seeing a dps decrease in 5m content compared to 10m content - well that is going to happen simply because you are not going to receive the same amount of buffs as you are running with less people. So if you are running 10m content and getting kings, might, GotW, shammy totems etc. well those all up your dps rates. In the 5m stuff you are likely going to be lacking some if not all of those buffs save for your own (Horn of Winter).
Now with most of the sword swinging types - like warriors and DKs - strength and pure attack power are going to be the stats to go for over agility. So yes, you will notice an increase in your dps if you are using the stats that are more geared towards your class. This in turn will raise your dps in 5m content and you should certainly see an improvement once in a 10m instance where you are going to have the wider array of buffs to increase your stats as well.
A great way to judge what you are doing dps wise is to go and hack up one of the training dummies. You can find them in IF, SW etc. Now when I go, I don't use any food or pots and only use the buffs that are specific to my class. This will give you a base to start from. So hack at the dummy for a few minutes and see what you get. After that pop a flask, food, scroll whatever you might use in an instance and go again - you will probably see an improvement just from self buffing and will have a clear idea of what kind of base damage you are putting out prior to your group buffs. _________________ GO!
